Tri-Cities Plastic Recycling

Northwest Polymers – Enhancing Tri-Cities Recycling Strategy

As the name suggests, the 253,000 people living in the Tri-Cities are actually the combined population of three individual cities – Kennewick, Richland and Pasco. Set on the border between the south Washington counties of Benton and Franklin (Pasco), they share a love of the great outdoors, with river trails and water sports amongst the favorite pastimes.

Nature, earth and environment are all important to the community, so it might come as a surprise that nuclear weaponry was a major industry there. Perhaps it is this stark contrast that has led to committed Tri-Cities recycling activities. In fact, with the fall of the USSR in 1991, the environmental cleanup of the nuclear sites (Hanford) has been a priority.

Applying the most appropriate municipal waste management strategy is a challenge that requires dedicated planning. But with buy-back recycling centers in Pasco, Kennewick and Richland, drop-off facilities in Pasco and Kennewick, and access to curbside collection services in Kennewick and Richland, the Tri-Cities are well served.

In fact, recycling in the Tri-Cities has been hailed a success. In 2009, the counties of Benton and Franklin reported recycling 62,000 and 10,000 tonnes of waste paper respectively, and 12,000 and 2,000 tonnes of plastic between the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.

But at Northwest Polymers, we offer a superior collection service so we can help businesses in the Tri-Cities, recycle their unwanted waste and scrap plastic with none of the logistical headaches associated with the task. All our clients’ need to do is contact us and arrange a date. Then our fleet will visit to collect the load.

Our purchasing clients can just as easily arrange delivery of a fresh supply of high quality recycled plastic resins and high grade specialty polymers – when they want and how they want (in pellet, regrind or pulverized form).

Over the past decade, we have made it our business to develop Value Added services that is more than just collection and delivery, but is a complete recycling service with no third parties. As a result, Northwest Polymers figures amongst the leading plastic recycling companies in the western United States.

And, of course, by contributing to plastic recycling in the Tri-Cities area, Washington, we can add just a little bit to the environment and its future too.
